KAAN Awards Program
The Kansas Academic Advising Network is excited to present our awards program, which honors current KAAN members and institutions that have significantly contributed to academic advising within our organization and their respective institutions.
We hope this program will encourage broader support and recognition of academic advising.
Award Categories
Advising Scholarship Award: Published in a peer-reviewed professional journal.
Advising Publication Award: Creative and unique use of print or online publications (student planners, newsletters, electronic resources, etc.) that support academic advising.
KAAN Service Award: Significant contribution to our organization.
Supportive Advisor Award: Individual who exemplifies a commitment to advising and is a true advocate for students and academic advisors.
Nominations
Complete a nomination form for each award. Incomplete nominations will not be considered. The deadline for nominations is August 1.
Award winners will be notified via email no later than September 1, and awards will be presented during the conference program.
Nomination Form Requirements
Advising Scholarship: Letter of nomination, electronic copy of peer-reviewed publication, additional supporting documentation (optional).
Advising Publication: Letter of nomination, electronic copy of publication, additional supporting documentation (optional).
KAAN Service Award: Letter of nomination (minimum of 2 letters), additional supporting documentation (optional).
Supportive Advisor Award: Letter of nomination, nominee’s personal advising philosophy, current resume or vita, additional supporting documentation (optional).
All nominations are limited to 5 files and 10 MB.

Best of KAAN
The Best of KAAN Award recognizes the most outstanding presentation at our annual KAAN conference, determined by session evaluations. The winning presentation will receive a one-time stipend of $375 to be divided among presenters.
The presenter(s) must attend the upcoming NACADA Region 7 Conference to present their award-winning presentation and provide documentation of attendance to receive the stipend.

NACADA Awards
NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising offers a variety of awards, scholarships, and grants to its members and others who have excelled in advising, faculty advising, academic advising administration, leadership in the field, and graduate student accomplishments through their Global Awards and Region 7 Awards & Scholarships programs.
