KAAN 2017 Annual State Conference

The annual KAAN conference provides an opportunity for members to convene in one location to collaborate, learn, and share information with members of the association.

Keynote Speaker

Marché Fleming-Randle, Ph.D. [bio]

Senior Assistant Dean,
Assistant to the President for Diversity

Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Wichita State University

Fleming-Randle is the college liaison for student services planning and implementation, encompassing undergraduate recruitment activity, the enrollment process, and matriculation to degree completion.

Her research and academic interests include mental health, substance abuse, child and youth programs, educational leadership, and diversity.


Location and Parking

Wichita State University sits on a hill at the intersection of 21st Street North and Hillside Avenue in Wichita, Kansas. KAAN 2017 will be held in the Rhatigan Student Center.

Lot 24 next to 17 Street has been reserved for the event. See campus parking map (PDF).

All conference activities are in the Rhatigan Student Center, Ballroom on the third floor and conference rooms on the second floor. There is an entrance on the south side of the building which leads directly to the elevator. Signage and volunteers directing people will be provided by WSU.

 


Steering Committee Openings
At this year’s annual conference the following positions were up for election:

  • Vice Chair
  • Membership Coordinator
  • Secretary

All current members of KAAN are eligible to run for office. Officers will be elected at the annual meeting by a majority vote of members present.

Note: Each steering committee member may serve no more than two elected consecutive terms in any capacity. No member may hold more than one seat on the steering committee at one time.


Professional Development
KAAN professional development awards provide current KAAN members the opportunity to seek funding to grow and expand as professionals. Review the guidelines regarding submitting an application for, and receiving, a professional development award.
